I paint two things at once: pairing subjects, moods or activities in order to explore how to find ease within the bothness: a moment of transition before the wind changes direction.

Frances (b.1976) studied English Literature and Art History at McGill University before teaching for a year in Italy where she fell in love with design. A graduate of Environmental Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design, Frances works in interior design on large scale residential, workplace and institutional projects.

Somewhere along the line Frances became a painter. Her work is heavily influenced by the colour and textures of her design world. Her artwork is in private collections across Canada, the US, the Middle East, the UK and part of the public collection of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Her studio is a triangle-shaped room in her home in lovely Guelph Ontario.
